
James W. Lewis graduated from The Colorado College with a B.A. degree in Chemistry (with minors in Biology and History) and has a doctoral degree in psychology from UCLA. James is the primary author of over 25 scientific research articles in professional journals, as well as numerous book chapters and invited presentations at national and international meetings.
In 1989, Dr. Lewis graduated from UCLA School of Law, in the top 15% of the class. During his years in practice, Dr. Lewis has tried cases before juries in both state and federal courts, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, and has represented clients in state and federal appellate proceedings. Throughout his career, his practice has emphasized employment and civil rights law. Dr. Lewis has published several legal articles, primarily concerning employment-related issues, in legal papers and a legal/scientific article, “Premenstrual Syndrome as a Criminal Defense” in the Archives of Sexual Behavior. In addition, Dr. Lewis has experience handling personal injury, professional liability, police misconduct (including wrongful death), environmental, and product liability matters. Recently, Dr. Lewis received a certificate for mediator training from the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
